Adding SharePoint List as Data Source

Applies To: Information Worker for SharePoint 2013/2016/2019 and Cloud

 

This article describes how to create a data source that uses SharePoint list as information source.

Step 1. Open a template and navigate to Options → Data Source

Click Add new data source.

Step 2. Select SharePoint List type data source, add names, select the site where required list is stored and choose the list

Click green Create Data Source button on the bottom of the page.

Step 3. New data source appears in Available Data Sources list. If user choose any available data source - its information is shown.

New data source can be used in form's actions and scripting. For example it can be used to populate dropdown fields as described below.

Step 4. Navigate to Design tab → choose the Name dropdown → Properties tab → Dropdown items in order to make Name dropdown take information from previously created data source

Step 4.1 Dropdown item configuration dialog window appears. Choose Data Source tab → select previously created SharePoint Site Users data source

Demo DataSource allows displaying different list columns in dropdown. Set raw and display dropdown values. In this example both values displays user names.

Step 5. Publish the template and open a new form. Click on Name dropdown

Student names are displayed in dropdown list.
