Create your first PDF form from scratch (Part 1 of 3)

Applies To: Information Worker for SharePoint 2013/2016 and Cloud

 

Prerequisites

Create a SharePoint library where template will be deployed.

Open a SharePoint site where you want to create the library and click on Site Settings in the top right-hand corner. Click on Add an App. Select Document Library and then give your library a name, e.g. “Demonstration Forms”

Creating template

Step 1. Click on Site Settings in the top right-hand corner → PDF Share Forms IW → My Form Templates

 

Step 2. All templates repository is shown. Click on the "Create new template"

Step 2.1 New template creation window appears. Choose Use Custom Settings → choose Page Size → Select Target Library (Demonstration Forms in this example) → add template name

Click Create Template.

Step 3. Designer is displayed

 Step 4. Drag and drop text field from the toolbox to the canvas

 

Step 4.1 Create Control windows appears - add field name and click Create

Step 5. Result

Step 6. Deploy the template. Since deployment library have been chosen during template creation, template can be deploy straight ahead by clicking Deploy button (marked with red) on the rightbottom corner

Step 6.1 Wait until confirmation message appears on the top right corner

New content type is created and can be accessed in the library specified in step 2.1

Step 7. Navigate to Demonstration Library and open a new form

Step 8. Fill in the TextField1 and click Submit (marked with red)

Step 9. PDF form appears in the library
